Welcome to HR Ken

HR Ken has specifically been designed to enable employers, business owners and individuals alike, access to the many labour issues that we are confronted with on a daily basis and how best to deal with them. The information displayed on this site endeavors to keep things simple and provide relevant, easy to understand solutions to problems that occur with frequently asked questions and answers provided for easy reference after each topic discussed.

Why use HR Ken instead of other similar sites?

HR Ken gives simple understandable advice regarding labour matters and suggests straightforward preventative steps to manage a wide range of issues all on one site, as well as providing the necessary documents in ensuring that compliance is achieved whilst having easy access to the relevant acts regarding labour legislation. Currently we are also busy “simplifying” acts such as the LRA, BCEA, SDA and EEA in lay mans terms so that users are able to understand the crux of these often confusing pieces of legislation with relative ease. Most other sites related to Labour issues use case judgments as their points of discussion which for the ordinary business owner is not always relevant nor does he/she have the time and unless one actually accesses that specific case and examines it in its entirety it is of limited use to the employer. In many instances these sites also make use of legal expertise which besides being costly to use does not always assist the employer in addressing his/her actual problem as there is normally a legalistic approach which in many cases is lost to the employer. The advice and/or suggestions that appear on HR Ken have evolved over more than seventeen years of hands on experience in the HR industry taking into account numerous case studies and awards made regarding labour issues. HR Ken acknowledges that a lot of our labour legislation can be interpreted in different ways and this has also been carefully considered and cognizance taken thereof when supplying information. In a nut shell HR Ken examines and interprets various labour issues and/or rulings on your behalf and provides you with the solution to the problem, without you having to do all the research, or employing someone to do it on your behalf. HR Ken can be used by your business as an HR reference tool which is relevant, simple, easy to use and considerably less expensive than employing someone full time or using legal practitioners unnecessarily.
